A Night at the Museum Family Sleepover
20th June 10
Fifteen brave families keen to find out the spooky goings-on behind closed doors joined us for a 'A Night at the Museum' this weekend as part of the Sheffield Children's Festival 2010.

As part if the evening's entertainment families enjoyed the company of'Bad Bill' with his late night tours full of gruesome tales and and unsavoury characters from Sheffield's bygone years.

Children took the Museum into their own hands to become a Museum Curator for the night, learning more about 'Sheffield at Work' through the ages.

Youngsters learn more about life as a Buffer Girl.

There was always time for a break from the spooky stuff and time to relax and have fun in the Melting Shop Children's Play Area where kids can be melted, forged and shaped learning the processes of steel making as they go!

Everyone gathered in their pyjamas for the Bad Bill's finale - the tale of 'The Ghost in the Machine' followed by a midnight run of the River Don Engine - the most powerful remaining steam engine in Europe.
Then it was time for bed and some well earned sleep ... if you were brave enough!
