Sheffield and Ecclesall Co-operative Milk Float

The Sheffield and Ecclesall Co-operative Milk Float sits in our open engineers workshop ready for conservation - come and take a look!

The float cargo deck has been removed and the aluminium has been stripped from it's roof. Our intention whilst replacing the missing roof and Cargo deck is to maintain as much original material as possible.

Sheffield and Ecclesall Co-operative Milk Float

The float was submerged in the floods of 2007 so will require a full strip down and deep clean. All breaks were seized on whilst in storage so they are stripped and awaiting replacement seals.

The electric's will also be investigated to see if a set of salvaged batteries might get it operational around site? What a sight that would be on our cobbled streets at Kelham!
