Heritage Open Day
13th September 10
Over 300 people visited Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet for a national Heritage Open Days event this weekend.
Heritage Open Days is a national campaign co-ordinated by English Heritage which celebrates England's fantastic architecture and culture by offering free access to properties that are usually closed to the public or normally charge for admission.
Here at Abbeydale, families took part in living history tours around the site and youngsters learnt about life during the Sheffield Blitz, having a go at broom handle drills and finding out what to do when an incendiary bomb comes through the roof!
