Talk: Mappin & Webb - A Company with a Flair for Design

 

The origins of Sheffield company, Mappin & Webb, go back to the late 1700s. By 1810 it had become Mappin Brothers, and by the 1850s it reached its zenith, winning a Prize Medal for its display at the Great Exhibition in 1851 and being appointed cutler to Queen Victoria.
