FoSIM Photographic Competition 2006
- A View at the Museum
In memory of Francis Evans, FoSIM are holding a free photographic
competition, which is open to all visitors to the SIMT Museum sites
this summer. There will be a prize in each of three age categories
- Junior, Intermediate and Senior.
The subject for the competition is A View at the Museum and will cover
any photograph taken at any of the three SIMT sites in Sheffield
(Abbeydale Hamlet, Kelham Island Museum and Shepherd Wheel).
There will be three competion categories:
Junior for those aged 12 and under;
Intermediate for 13 to 18 year olds
and Senior for those over 18.
Entries for the competition should be in a printed format, up to A4 size,
and can be black and white or colour photographs.
A FoSIM Photographic Competition entry form must be completed for each entry
and the entrants name and contact details should be written on the back of
each photograph. A suitable stamped addressed envelope should also be included
if the entrant wishes the photographs to be returned after the competition
has finished.
The closing date for entries is 4th September 2006. Entries will then be short
listed by the FoSIM committee assisted by Linda Evans. The Finalists' photographs
will be displayed at the Steam Day on the last day of opening of Abbeydale Hamlet
on Sunday 1st October. The judging will then be carried out by members of the
public attending the Steam Day casting votes for their choice of best photograph
in each category.
Competition entry forms are available for collection from Abbeydale Hamlet or
Kelham Island Museum during normal opening hours.
You can also downlad and print an application form by Clicking Here.
The entry forms and photographs should be put into a suitable envelope so that
the photographs are not folded. The envelopes should be marked FoSIM Photographic
Competition and handed in at either Kelham Island Museum or Abbeydale Hamlet Museum.
