Creative Minds
What Is It?
Creative Minds is a three year project funded by Yorkshire Forward that aims to offer children inspirational
and creative learning opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).
Members of the Creative Minds Network can access free advice and support on STEM opportunities for
children using Museum, Library and Archive collections.
South Yorkshire Focus
The South Yorkshire Focus is based at Kelham Island Museum. The Trust has created a new
STEM education centre: INVENT IT! The centre will link existing and new hands-on exhibits with
innovative teaching sessions in a purpose-built education space.
We will be expanding the network of out-of-hours science clubs in primary and secondary schools
across the county that are linked to museums, libraries and archives.
Advice and guidance is available for museums, libraries or archives in South Yorkshire who wish
to develop STEM activities but need experience and expertise.
