Introduction
The Trust cares for a unique collection belonging to the city of Sheffield. Over the Trust's three sites,
the collection tells the story of Sheffield's industrial past and includes buildings, engines, steel
samples, machinery large and small, cars, clocks, kettles, films and photographs, and a glass eye!
The collections are an essential part of the Trust's work. They provide a basis for other activities of
the Trust, such as exhibition and education. The continued collecting and preservation of objects is
essential to the Trust to maintain the relevance of the collections to the city of Sheffield and its people.
In this area of our website you can find out what we collect and why, and what there is to see on
display at the museums. You can also discover more about what lies behind the scenes at Kelham,
Abbeydale and Shepherd Wheel. Click on the links below to investigate further.
