Calling Local Archaeology and History Groups!

Archaeology in Action Day | Sunday 12th July | Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet

As part of the Festival of Archaeology on Sunday 12th July we are inviting local history and archaeology groups from around Sheffield and South Yorkshire to book a space in the Learning Centre at Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet to promote your work.

This year we have additional funding from the Children’s University to make the event extra special. We will have three Interactors from SIMT’s Learning Team who will play characters from “Who Shot Mr Tyzack?” our new participatory performance based on stories from the Sheffield Outrages of the 1860s.

The spaces are free to book and will be on a first come, first served basis. As this is a Sunday event, you may wish to offer a simple activity for families to do. We have a limited number of spaces, so don’t delay!

The event will be open to the public from 11am until 4.45pm. There is an entry fee to the site of £4 adults, £3 concessions, children under 16 go free.

The event is being advertised through the Children’s University among other channels. Children with a “Passport to Learning” get free entry for one accompanying adult.

For all bookings and enquiries about spaces, please contact Rebecca Walton

The deadline for bookings is Monday 6th July 2015.
