Please note, we regret that this event has been cancelled due to staff illness.  A new date will be re-arranged and advertised as soon as possible.

An exclusive invitation for teachers to a special preview of our new HLF project and new First World War school sessions for KS2/3

Thursday 8th October 2015
4pm - 6pm
Kelham Island Museum

  • Go behind-the-scenes with our curator Karen Middlemast and find out more about the exciting discoveries made in our archives
  • Meet a First World War munitions worker
  • Find out about our First World War themed museum sessions and resources
  • Meet other teachers and education professionals
  • Glass of wine and light refreshments on arrival

We know that the First World War can be a daunting subject to teach, especially with younger children.
Our new half day sessions look at some of the stories of the First World War in Sheffield.
They are ideal as introductions to work on commemoration and local history but can also be springboards for creative arts, drama and philosophy.

To book your free place, please RSVP to Community & Learning Team, education@simt.co.uk

See our Learning pages for more information about the new school sessions.
