Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet

Family fun and making every Wednesday throughout the Sheffield school summer holidays!

Industry meets nature at the Hamlet - the perfect setting for families to make and create together.

Dates and themes:

Wednesday 31st July

Admire the Hamlet's Victorian Garden, then use the art of decoupage to decorate a plant pot.

Wednesday 7th August

Follow in Benjamin Huntsman's footsteps by designing your own clock.

Wednesday 14th August

Handle real objects from our collection and have a go at drawing them.

Wednesday 21st August

Collect-a-collage: Solve clues to find making materials around the Hamlet, then create a collage inspired by what you have seen.

Wednesday 28th August

Crucible pots were hugely important for making steel at Abbeydale Works.  Come and make your own miniature clay crucible pot.

10am - 1pm each week.

All activities are free with museum admission, no need to book!

Children can also complete the Sheffield Museums Arts Award 'Discover' for FREE!
