Kelham Island Museum’s interactive galleries tell the story of light trades and skilled workmanship to mass production. Catch a unique glimpse of life at home and at work at Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet, an 18th century scythe and steelworks or discover Shepherd Wheel, a unique example of Sheffield’s Knife grinding industry.

See the mighty River Don Engine in steam Mon - Thurs 12pm & 2pm and Sun 12pm, 2pm and 4pm.

We regret the River Don Engine will not be running from Monday 12 - Sunday 18 February due to essential boiler maintenance.  

The Steam Hammer Cafe at Kelham Island Museum will be closed for refurbishment from Sunday 4 February and will plan to reopen on Monday 12 February.
